I could never do this!

Everyone has talents that help them stand out in his or her family. One of our Little Red Riding Hood's talents is that she is incredibly flexible. She can do a complete split anywhere on demand. She learned the split when she was 4 years old. She saw another child at a park do it, and she taught herself in a few days of practicing. Now at 5 she does a split up to 10 times a day just for the fun of it. None of the rest of us can do them, so we're always impressed. She said she would teach me for my birthday. I think I had better stick to my very crooked cartwheels. LOL!

  1. Hey, I'm impressed with crooked cartwheels! I've never done a cartwheel in my life! LOL

I'm very impressed with the splits. She makes them look effortless!

  2. I've seen people do that kind of thing for as long as I can remember and never once did I feel motivated to try - LOL She has great potential!!! My daughter is pretty flexible, my son is absolutely stiff as a board, (hypertonia) so it just goes to show - if you've got it, you've got it!!!

    I love your daughter's smile!

  3. My dd is extremely flexible too in amazing ways, but not so in regular ways! Yes we are under contract with a house in VA (far from the bulk of the traffic) and plan to close in a few weeks.

  4. What I find so odd is, why do we want to do the splits. My middle girl is also very flexible and also worked very hard to be able to do the splits and could by the time she was five, but why. I never encouraged her to learn how to do it and as far as I know no one else did. Strange :-).

It is wonderful to celebrate our abilities.
