Our dirty laundry!

My kids love to do SOME of their chores.  Moving the laundry from the upstairs bathroom to the laundry room is their favorite chore.  Of course, it gets a little crazy when they are moving it.

Step 1 ~ Dump the laundry out in the bathroom!

I love dd's face! She's thinking, "Is there nothing my Mom won't blog?!"

Step 2 ~ Throw it down the stairs and slide down the stairs on it.

Sometimes the laundry wins for a moment or two!

Step 3 ~ Get it to the laundry room any way you can!

Mommy's waiting ~ Where is that laundry?

This was not staged! This really is the way my kiddos do the laundry.  If you thought that was scary, you should see the way they mop floors.  LOL!

Blessings,
Dawn

  1. You are way too fun. I can't bear to look when my kids do that to our laundry (we have 2 sets of stairs to navigate). Probably more so because it is _really Dirty_. I do have 5 big boys and 2 potty mastering daughters plus the yuck baby, dog, wood floors.....

I do love reading our blog. It helps me relax a little.

  3. Wow...I wish I were half this organized! You have inspired me.

Also...the laundry cracked me up. Are they taking lessons from my kids?

  6. Laundry at my house goes something like this:

*Get undressed in the living room

*open basement door and kick said laundry onto the stairs

*close door quickly so no spiders can get out

*forget about laundry until everyone is out of clean underwear!

Your way looks like more fun!

  10. At first I thought, what's so fun about moving laundry? My son brings it down for me almost everyday. But he does it the boring way - in a basket LOL! Now what your kiddos do is FUN! LOL!

  11. That is really funny! I love the chore-in-progress photos! It reminds me of some family in a book, not sure which one. Hey, as long as they're helping. It'll be a fun memory! Grinning, Christa

  12. That is too funny! My middle guy LOVES to help with the laundry, too, because we have a laundry chute and it's fun to throw it in, but I think yours is even more fun!

  15. LOL! You must be very relaxed mom! Looks like fun! :-) My younger ones throw it over the side of the banister and then carry it to the bathroom. Mopping must be very interesting...Blessings, Tammy

  16. That was so much fun to read and see! I can't wait til dh gets home...he'll get a kick out of it as well. My chitlins love to help with the laundry too...especially with adding soap to the machine...that has caused a few funny incidents here :)

Right now, I have Rebekah (8 yo) sorting it with the help of Abigail (6 yo). She then puts it in the machines and the boys take turns dumping the clean stuff on our bed. I fold during the day whenever I have a free minute or two...then in the afternoon, we all put away our own things (the older ones each have a little one they help).

Yes, I do laundry every day...it is at least 4 loads and sometimes up to 6 or 7 depending on towels, bed wetting ect... Saturday we wash all our sheets :)

BTW, you look like you are having too much fun!

I'm so glad to see it isn't just my kids that "do laundry" this way!!! My mother-in-law thinks I'm crazy for letting them do the whole slide-down-the-stairs part, but I don't care as long as I don't have to carry the laundry thru the house and down the basement stairs :) What cracks me up is when they scurry to get the stairs reloaded with clothes again so they can slide some more before I make the announcment that the laundry MUST make it into the laundry area!
