Outdoor Challenge ~ Cattails

We finally found some cattails. They are in our local bird sanctuary, so it will be easy to follow them for a year now that we've found them. The kids really wanted to touch them but they were too far away for us to reach, as well as being on protected ground. I will have to keep my eye out for some they can feel.

Here is a picture of my sweet boy trying to climb a tree to reach the cattails.

Here are the children and my drawings of cattails.  Going clockwise~ Tom Sawyer (7), Me, Little Red Riding Hood (5), and Goldilocks (8).

Blessings, Dawn

  2. Cool! Fun that we were doing the same thing at the same time. I really like YOUR picture of the cattails. I love the sun shining on them.

I hope you can find some that you can get your hands on. My kids had a blast pulling them apart and letting the seeds blow into the car. (Ahem! I didn't think it was that neat of an idea, myself!!)

  3. Looks like a fun day. I love the way you are being intentional with nature. I need to do a better job. I did go for a nature hike last week after reading and being prompted. Keep posting as it's encouraging to me!
